A Crowd Pleaser . . .

14

Edgar Guest in his poem "Myself" states aptly what the editors of the 1975
Chi trying to express.

I can never hide myself from m»
I see that others may never se<
I know what others may never know,
I never can fool myself and so,
Whatever happens, I want to be
Self-respecting and conscience free.

Every individual in this world as well as desiring to be "self-respecting and
conscience free" is unique in some way . It may be something as simple as a pleas-
ant smile or as great as tne talents for learning, tor the arts, for building, for ath-
letics, for homemaking, for being a gentle human being. Each characteristic
makes the individual a special person in his own way.

If each of us can be ourself, establish our own identity, and at the same time
give of ourself to the peoples in our everyday lives, we will add to our own sta-
ture. We, as individuals, will benefit from giving and the world will benefit from
the gift.

The school year-1974-75-has been a year
of great change at King Philip. We have been
and are undergoing change in the school struc-
ture and chanqe in administration.

During this time of change, most of us have
tried to maintain our own identities whilegiv-
ing the best of ourselves to make it all go to-
gether. Those of us who gave the best of our-
selves have and will benefit and add to our
stature, for we have learned to work and to

play under pressure. n ^_ Jr .„ l . .

We, the Editors of the 1975 Chieftain,
hope tnat we have, within the pages of this
edition, reflected some of our successes and
our struggles.

I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence;
Two roads diverged in a wood and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.

Now the world is out there waiting for you.
Now the future is what you will make it.

Which way to go ?

What job to seek?

Where is the yellow brick road?

One company represents so many different

avenues there may be a job opportunity that just

Jits your particular talents. More important,

a job that leads to a better job. Ask your

guidance counselor where and when you can

apply for an interview with

New England Telephone.

A people-to-people business.
